Suzuki celebrated more than just one win at the 2016 What Car? Awards as their Vitara was also awarded a “Best Buy for less than £15,000” accolade along with the Swift Sport Model.
In the small SUV class and priced at just £13,999, the Vitara 1.6-litre SZ4 was carefully judged by the editorial team and was announced as the best overall model in its price bracket.
Standard equipment on all Vitara models is generous and includes seven airbags, alloy wheels and front and rear electric windows, with higher specifications including climate control, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity and a DAB radio for under £15,000.
Suzuki’s innovative ALLGRIP four wheel drive technology is also available as an option on SZ5 models and is standard equipment on the recently introduced S model.
The new Vitara S brings a sportier and dynamic profile to the Vitara line up and is the first to use Suzuki’s new BOOSTERJET technology. The 140PS 1.4-litre Direct Injection turbocharged unit (DITC) has compact dimensions and offers 220Nm of torque and emits 127g/km of CO2.
Speaking about the Suzuki Vitara, Jim Holder, Editorial Director for What Car? Magazine said that the model “drives well” with a “smooth and economical” engine and an “enjoyable five-speed gearbox.” However, it was practicality that really stood out for the editor stating that it was a “real strong point” for the car with an “impressive cargo space” and “plenty of leg room front and back.”
